EMTS JOIN WISHEK AMBULANCE SERVICE

Joan Wishek, Colbie Fandrich and Felicia Huber Sampson work on a mannequin in the SIM-ND Truck.

This year, we celebrate 40 years the Wishek Ambulance Service has safely transported patients and rescued lives.  Alongside of this milestone, we congratulate four students who have completed, or nearly completed, their EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) training, a big accomplishment and boost to our ambulance response team.  Congratulations to Colbie Fandrich and Tori Fleener who have completed the course and are certified EMTs.  Joel Weber and Dan Braun will soon take their certification tests.   The eleven month course consists of 150 hours in the classroom, a computer-based cognitive exam that entailed medical, trauma, obstetrics, cardiology, and EMS operations, as well as a psychomotor test that must be passed at 100%.
We also acknowledge the good work of our neighboring services and EMS providers with the Ashley, Napoleon, Kulm, Gackle, and Emmons County ambulance services.  The Wishek Ambulance Service continues to be in need of volunteers.  If you are interested in becoming an EMT, contact Jo Vilhauer, squad leader at 452-3126.
