PLANNING FOR YOUR FUTURE: WE'RE HERE TO HELP

The WHC highly recommends creating “Advance Directives,” or written instructions regarding medical care preferences to help you and your family be as prepared as possible for future medical situations.  If you were to become ill or hurt in a way that you would be unable to make your own health care decisions, your medical provider would consult your Advance Directives.  These directives can include a Living Will, a designation of a medical POA (Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care) and a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate Order).  Advance Directives are not only good for elderly, but for all ages in case of a medical emergency.  If you would like to start the process of any of these three things, contact WHC's social worker representative, Robin Opsahl, LSW at 452-2326.
